What's new in EasyDNNgallery 7.0

What the world is saying to us human beings is, 'Don't stick to the old ways, learn to think anew.'

Daniel Barenboim

That’s why we’re offering you a new perspective in the new version of EasyDNNgallery. One of the most popular DNN modules after 5 years has come to version 7. And we sure won’t stop here.

Every day we see articles about the importance of visual content and they inform us that its popularity is increasing day by day. Of course, written content has its own place but you will miss out a lot without visual content.

In the middle of 2010. we published the first version of our EasyDNNgallery module. After more than 5 years, we have come to version 7. In this version we are focused on users’ experience, so we modernized and enhanced the module interface, simplified adding of images, video and audio files. Users’ experience has been enhanced with a gallery that can be used in the community mode as a social gallery.

New modern interface

The module interface has been completely renewed and redesigned. New functionalities have been added for an easier and more effective use of a gallery. With the existing management interface there is a new in-place interface added. This interface can be used in the Gravity gallery display. Now users who have the approval for adding and editing items in a gallery can do it directly in the Gravity display without the necessity to go to the gallery management interface.

New social features

The new in-line interface is a significant improvement when a gallery is used as a social gallery. Adding of images and videos is considerably simplified for community users. In previous versions of the community mode, users were limited to adding just embed videos from YouTube or Vimeo. Adding your own video files in the community mode wasn’t possible until now, because for a video to be successfully displayed on different devices it needs to be h.264 encoded. Since it is not possible to expect for users to upload their videos in the right format, the possibility of uploading your own video files has been enabled. In the meantime we have added the possibility for integration with Wistia video hosting service. If the integration is enabled (it is necessary to add the Wistia API key in the module), users can upload their video files, and the module will forward video files to Wistia where the video will be encoded and hosted.
