News 13.1 – Dynamic Custom Field Lists
The new 13.1 version of EasyDNN News introduces a a brand-new solution for recipes websites, but with broad applications beyond that.
Thanks to improvements in the custom fields functionality, you can now create dynamic list fields when adding articles. This allows you to add an unlimited number of similar items, such as ingredients in a recipe, features in a real estate listing, or multiple addresses in a business directory.
Use Cases:
- Recipes – ingredients and preparation steps
- Real estate listings – additional features per property
- Business directories – multiple addresses or contact points
- Event listings – multiple event locations
... and more.
How to Create a Dynamic List Field
Example: Adding multiple addresses to an article
- Go to News module > Dashboard > Custom Fields
- Select TextBox as the field type, and set Data type to Text
- For TextBox type, choose List
- Enter a Field Name and Custom Field ID, e.g., Address
- Define the list elements (subfields) for the address:

- House number
- City
- Postal code
- Create a Custom Field Group, e.g., Additional Addresses, and add the Address field to the group
- When adding an article:
- Enter the title and category
- Enable Custom Fields

- Click Add item to add a second address — repeat as needed.
You can also define item groups, such as Main and Secondary addresses
