EasyDNN News 14.7 brings faster image management and smarter search engine notifications
With EasyDNN News 14.7, content editors get more control over media management, while website owners gain a faster way to notify search engines about new and updated articles.

This release introduces two practical improvements: the new Quick Edit option in Media Manager and IndexNow integration for faster article discovery. In addition to Bing, IndexNow submissions can also be shared with other participating search engines, including Amazon, Naver, Seznam.cz, Yandex, and Yep, helping new and updated content get discovered faster across the broader IndexNow ecosystem.

Quick Edit in Media Manager
Managing media metadata is now much easier with the new Quick Edit option in Media Manager.
As an author who publishes a large number of articles in the EasyDNN News module, adding image titles (used as ALT tags) and image descriptions has always been a task that takes too much time, especially when an article contains multiple images. Each image had to be opened individually so the title and description could be added. When time is short, this step often gets skipped, which is not a good practice for several reasons.
The new Quick Edit feature allows editors to update the title (ALT tag), description, and file name for multiple media files at once. Instead of opening each image or file individually, changes can now be made in bulk, which saves time and provides a clearer overview of the media used in articles.
This is especially useful for websites that publish image-rich content, where properly maintained media metadata plays an important role in both SEO and accessibility. ALT tags help search engines better understand images, while also improving support for screen readers and assistive technologies. Since ADA compliance requires images to have ALT tags, it is now easier and faster to make articles ADA compliant.
In multilingual environments, this feature becomes even more useful thanks to AI-powered translation for all selected images at once, making it easier to maintain localized media data across different language versions of the same content.
Faster article discovery with IndexNow integration
EasyDNN News 14.7 also introduces IndexNow integration, a feature designed to help search engines discover new and updated articles faster. By automatically notifying the IndexNow service when content changes, the module improves how quickly search engines are informed about important updates on your website.
How to enable IndexNow
To use IndexNow in the module, the website first needs to be verified in Bing Webmaster Tools, where you can generate the required API key.
Once the API key is available, add it here:
News Module > Dashboard > API Settings > IndexNow API
After that, IndexNow can be enabled in the module instance whose articles you want to submit. The setting is available here:
13. Related Articles, RSS and Sitemap > IndexNow > Enable IndexNow submission
When this option is enabled, the module activates a scheduler that monitors recent content changes. It checks for newly published articles as well as updates to existing ones and automatically sends them to the IndexNow service.
Queue recently changed articles
An additional option, Queue recently changed articles, makes it easier to start using IndexNow on existing websites.
On the first queue run, the module sends articles that were modified within the last 30 days. This is useful when IndexNow is enabled after the site has already been active for some time, because it allows recently updated content to be submitted right away.
IndexNow and article sitemaps
It is important to note that IndexNow does not replace the article sitemap.
If you want to make sure that all articles are available for discovery by Bing, you should still use the article sitemap. The sitemap remains the standard way to expose the full structure of article content to search engines.
IndexNow serves a different purpose. It is designed to quickly notify search engines about new content and recent changes. Instead of waiting for crawlers to revisit the website and discover updates on their own, the module sends a direct signal that content has been published or modified.
As part of the IndexNow protocol, these updates may also be used by other participating search engines, helping improve content discovery beyond Bing alone.
