How to set permissions in the EasyDNNnews module?
Permissions are set in the EasyDNNnews module's settings (1 – News settings). Settings can be set to be valid across the entire portal, or only for a particular instance of the module.
After clicking on Permissions option, a new table is opened – Role permissions – where we can set permissions for each DNN role. In the first column of the table there is a list of all security roles existing on the portal. In the first row there is a list of all available permissions.
After that, each role can be granted the desired permissions by adding a check mark for each permission we wish to grant.
Exempted from this are the permissions Enable add/edit articles to selected categories and Select categories to view articles from, where we can select All categories, Selected categories or None. If one of these needs to be selected, it is necessary to mark Select categories and click on the link below Select categories. A new pop-up window will open, where we can select desired categories. After selecting them, we close the pop-up window by clicking on Close.
Permissions can also be granted to individual users. It is necessary to enter the individual DNN username into the field Add user by username, then click on Add. The user will be added to the list of users who can be granted individual permissions. The user will keep his or her permissions granted within a particular DNN role, and the user can also be granted additional permissions. Permissions granted to a user as a member of a DNN role cannot be withdrawn.
After setting up permissions, all the changes will be saved by clicking on the button Save settings or Save & close. The button is all the way down at the bottom of the EasyDNNnews module's settings.
